Two ways of building a scleral device around the exact shape of one eye, rather than fitting it from a trial set.
Why a custom shape matters
Most scleral lenses are fitted by trying lenses from a standard set and picking the closest match. That works when the surface of the eye is reasonably regular. After SJS/TEN it often is not — scarring, adhesions between the eyelid and the eyeball, and an uneven conjunctival surface can mean no stock lens sits correctly, and a lens that does not sit correctly is uncomfortable, leaks, or simply will not stay in.
EyePrintPRO
An impression of the eye’s surface is taken, much as a dentist takes an impression of teeth. The device is then made to that exact shape, including irregularities a stock lens could never accommodate.
ScanFitPRO
The same idea without the impression: the eye’s surface is measured optically and the device built from the scan. Less involved for the patient, and an option where an impression would be difficult.
